Fortnite Summer League Recap – All the Standings

DOMINATION ACROSS EACH LEADERBOARD

With the completion of our inaugural Eden Esports Fortnite Summer League, it’s time to announce the winners for the Squads tournaments. Compared to the Duos side of things, the tournament offered less competition and a lesser amount of teams which resulted in quite a skill gap as you’ll discover in the standings below. As a reminder; awards will be given for the following categories – most kills, most wins, highest win percentage and to the top 3 in the overall score.

Total kills

1st – 137

Rip Clan

2nd – 46

Silent but Deadly

3rd – 42

Team Soak

4th – 39

Splitzy

5th – 30

Vipe

6th – 16

SandStorm

Rip Clan easily steal the award of total kills, with the competition coming into play for the rest of the podium, as SBD and Team Soak differed by only 4 kills, as Splitzy missed out on a Top 3 finish by just 4 points.

Most WINS

1st – 7

2nd – 2

3rd – 2

4th – 2

5th – 1

6th – 1

Rip Clan

Silent but Deadly

Vipe

SandStorm

Splitzy

Team Soak

Being able to achieve wins is imperative to success, and it’s a tad tougher to do so in Squads when facing four other players should you be fortunate enough not to get third partied. Again, Rip Clan demonstrate their dominance with a substantial margin, while 2nd to 4th is once again close, all tied at 2. The order was then determined considering other factors.

highest WIN PERCENTAGE

1st – 7/14 – 50%

2nd – 2/4 – 50%

3rd – 2/4 – 50%

4th – 1/3 – 33%

5th – 1/3 – 33%

6th – 2/7 – 28.57%

Rip Clan

Vipe

SandStorm

Splitzy

Team Soak

Silent but Deadly

The above leaderboard certainly confirms my earlier statement – it’s tough to get wins in Squads even if you’re a great team. The reason why Rip Clan performed so well despite an equivalent win percentage to other teams is the fact that they worked the hardest, also working through the highest number of sessions too.

SCORE LEADERBOARD

1st – 234

2nd – 85

3rd – 62

4th – 60

5th – 57

6th – 46

Rip Clan

Silent but Deadly

Team Soak

Vipe

Splitzy

SandStorm

And there it is, the final leaderboard. As I predicted in our Weekly Recap articles, Rip Clan claiming first and Silent but Deadly second was rather obvious. The uncertainty came with regards to third place – which Team Soak earned over Vipe with a margin of 2 points. Of course, it must be acknowledged that Rip Clan has simply owned the Eden Esports Fortnite Summer League – Squads Tournament.

Overall, Rip Clan have added merit to the saying which Ariana Grande seemed to popularize – ‘I want it, I got it’. Jokes aside, it all boils down to the fact that they worked the hardest, putting in the most time and practice, which is all you need to succeed in esports.

We’d like to congratulate Rip Clan on their enormous achievement, while also thanking all the teams who’ve come out to compete this summer. Next summer will only be more competitive!
