Following our general announcement of the very first Summer League Eden Esports will be hosting, we’re prepared to reveal more details with regards to the specifics of the league. Formulated in a ‘QnA’ manner, you may find all the exciting answers to your questions below!
what are the precise dates i should keep in mind?
Firstly, the entire league will kick off on the 28th of June, to conclude on the 15th September. Do note, however, that a small break will be required during the 3rd and 4th of August due to the Nova Series present at that time.
EXACTLY HOW AND WHEN MAY I PARTICIPATE?
Don’t worry, it’s incredibly simple. Competing in the league consists of playing in as many 2 hour slots as you’d like, where only your 10 best slots will contribute towards a final personal scoring.
Booking slots is as easy as letting us know, sending us a private message on Facebook, more than 2 days prior at the following available times:
- Wednesday: 11AM – 8PM
- Saturday: 11AM – 8PM
- Sunday: 11AM – 8PM
Upon reaching the doors of the Eden Esports Centre in St. Julian’s, near the Eden Superbowl, a €5 entry fee per player for every slot will be required at the reception. After that prerequisite, our PCs and consoles are available with high-end peripherals, where competitors may feel free to bring their own peripherals from home. Note that slot bookings may be cancelled if one cannot make it, in order to free up the space to others.
HOW WILL SCORES BE GENERATED?
The key to placing higher in the league, is to score more points – a mind-blowing concept. Anyways, points will be presented on an online leaderboard, with information such as All Top 3 Placements, Kills and Average Game Time which will come in handy in the case of a tie breaker. To earn any points at all, team placement must be in the Top 3 to count:
- 1st Place – 10 Points
- 2nd Place – 5 Points
- 3rd Place – 3 Points
If you’re team is constantly getting second place, make sure to compensate with kills. Each kill is worth 1 point and will be added to the placement to form a total.
An Eden Esports representative will be present to ensure legitimate scoring, though teams may also record scores through the integrated Fortnite Client, taking a photo of any Top 3 Placement to show later. Weekly updates will be added to a public leaderboard.
what is there to play for?
At the end of the league, the following awards will be presented:
- Most Kills (Team)
- Most Wins (Team)
- Highest Win Percentage (Team)
Prizing will include:
- Engraved names on a massive trophy on display at the Esports Centre with a custom plaque
- Two smaller, more portable trophies for the winners
- An 80 hour PC Bundle Offer for each winner! (Controllers may be used, depending on preference)
- Medals for runners-up in second and third place
- Participation medals for all other participants
