TWO NEW GAMES AVAILABLE IN NOVEMBER
Earlier this month, Nintendo announced the release date for the next generation of Pokémon games. Pokémon Sword and Pokemon Shield are set to hit the shelves later this year on the 15th of November.
Alongside this information, Nintendo also released about fifteen minutes of footage, giving fans a brief look at some new features coming to the video game series. These new features include a more open type of world akin to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with overworld encounters returning from the Let’s Go Games in the new Wild Area which can be found between towns, perhaps replacing the routes found in the current Pokémon Games.
Two new Legendary Pokémon hit the spotlight as well, with Zacian and Zamazenta representing the Sword and Shield Titles respectively.
POKÉMON GO BIG IN GALAR
The biggest new feature (literally!) shown in the footage was Dynamaxing Pokemon, a new ability that turns Pokemon into giants, giving their moves a little extra kick. Wild Dynamax Pokémon can also be fought with a group in an experience similar to raids in Pokémon Go but with the movesets of the usual Pokémon Games.
All in all, The Pokémon Video Game Series seems to be embracing its transition to the Nintendo Switch gracefully, taking giant leaps forward when it comes to innovation while still keeping the classic Pokémon feel.
